Welcome to the factory

1.The first step is about classifying and
checking the skins by their color, reflects, gender, size...
We work only with first choice quality from international Fur-auctions which
verify the quality and source of the skins.
The check is also applied on the conditions of farming, the quality of living
of the animals before reaching the auction. |
 |

|
2. The selected skins are moistened
and stapled to fit a bigger size. This step help in having easier material
to work with and also take advantage of the elasticity of a fur skin
so that a final clothe needs less skins for the same result (more economic
and lighter to wear).
The skins are humidified on the leather side of the
skin to be easier to stretch. When all skins are stapled, the skins
are subjected to infrared lights to 'burn' the skin to force it to
keep the size and shape desired during the stepling. Like that, even
after being unstapled, the skin won't change.
This step also help as a second step of control during
the production chain. |
 |
3.When they are totaly dry,the skins are cut in little diagonal strips...
Those strips can be from 0,15 (0.06in) to 1,25 cm(0,5in) large. |
|
 |
4.The bandlets are then realigned and assembled to make taller bandlets.
Those bandlets will be used for the height of the coat, and the process
of cutting them in diagonal is used to take some width and make them taller. |
| 5. Assembly of strips to fit the model : Some strips as seen previously
are cutted again and re-assembled to fit the model of the different parts
of the coat as the back, ......
(Here is a sleeve --> ) |
|

|
6. When all the model and its different parts are assembled, everything
is stapled again to fit the exact size needed depending of the model
and the size chosen. This kind of "kit" stay stapled for hours
to keep its shape and size. The cutting process (step 2) help in making
the drape stronger and easier to stretch in different directions according
to the model.
Then the "mechanics"(people working on special sewing-machines
for furs) put the parts together a last time to finish the "assembly" part
of the job. At this point no more work will be done over the fur. |
| 7. Sew the lining and the finishing touch like buttons, the pockets,... |
